Frequently Asked Questions

Q

How easy is it to move from an Umbrella Company to Driver Accountants?

A

Very easy. Forming your own limited company is straightforward – see our signup page. Typically it will be live on the next working day. Once formed you will receive a full pack of documents with simple highlighting as to what is relevant and when. The one thing that may take time is getting a bank account, but we have a number of solutions for this.

Q

How easy is it to move from another accountant to Driver Accountants?

A

Even easier than moving from an Umbrella Company. One letter to your existing accountants is all it will take.

Q

Are your prices really fixed?

A

Yes – the price you see is the price you pay. We do not increase our fees year on year as standard.

Q

I’ve a poor credit history – will this stop me being able to run my own company?

A

Short answer – no. Unless you are in a current bankruptcy or have been disqualified as a director you can run your own company. We can even help arrange a bank account for those with poor credit.

Q

Surely it is more paperwork than running through an Umbrella Company?

A

No. There is probably less paperwork involved. You still submit an expenses claim through one of our platforms, but everything that needs actioning will be sent to you with a plain English explanation and a marker on where to sign. Everything is transparent and documented. We will also help with arranging liability insurance and an extremely cost effective rate.

Q

What if I want to speak to you?

A

Then we would be delighted to speak to you as well. We also offer a text facility – where you can ask a question by text and receive a reply.

Q

How do I know you will be here in the future?

A

We have many years of experience in accountancy and we own our premises – as a sign of commitment to ensuring our base for years to come.

Q

There is so much confusing information – do you have a simple method of showing me how I will benefit?

A

Yes! –we want to make this as simple and honest as possible. Fill in 4 brief details on our contact us page and we will send you a tailored report.

Q

My mate claimed for his kitchen as he holds business meetings there – why can’t I?

A

Because it isn’t legal! – just because something is claimed for doesn’t mean it will pass the Taxman’s eye. Once you claim for a kitchen, or say a car you are creating personal tax issues for yourself for using a company asset. The kitchen will be a company asset – so you would be taxed for using it personally.
